Man Donated Kidney Suffers Hernia

A heroic dad who gave up a kidney to a complete stranger has now developed a gigantic tumour the size of a football.

Paul Dooley and his brother Kenny were the first brothers in the UK to donate their kidneys with no specific recipient in mind.

While Kenny’s operation went smoothly – when Paul had his taken out three years later he ended up with a gigantic growth, reports the Daily Record.

But Paul, 32, said he has no regrets and would do the same again.

He said: “It has been a hard slog but to know I have saved a life is worth the pain.”

Paul, from Glasgow, first fell ill while he was out with his partner Lisa a week after the op in February 2015.
He returned to the city’s Western Infirmary and was told there was an infection in the wound and he was kept in for a week.

After his release he had to pack and clean the wound himself and it took five months to fully heal.
Paul said: ”I was off work and I did get a bit down and depressed but I still didn’t regret my decision.”
