Offa Bank Robbery: Police releases ‘Saraki Boy’

In the wake of the robbery of Offa Banks and consequent arrest of suspects, confessional statements taken by the Police, the five paraded suspects and eight others were said to have been operating under the name of Youth Liberation Movement [a.k.a. good boys].

Information made available to Inside Sources says Abdulwahab Baba Yusuf, the chief of staff to the Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed has been released while the PA Political, Olalekan Alabi is still in police custody.

Olalekan Alabi who was arrested alongside the Chief of Staff, Abdulwahab Baba Yusuf is said to have assisted the police in further investigation into the case.

A revolver pistol and pump action gun were recovered by the police from Olalekan who was said to have directed his brother to hide the guns in his farm after his arrest.

Explaining his role [Abdulwahab Baba Yusuf] in the case, the police said in order to conceal evidence, the chief of staff arranged the removal of the sticker plate number with inscription ‘SARAKI’, ‘Kwara, State of Harmony’ from the exhibit vehicle and also registered the Lexus jeep used in Offa Bank Robbery.
