“I have no rift with Tinubu,” APC chairman, Oyegun

The National chairman of the All progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun, has said he is not at loggerheads with the National Leader of APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“There is no rift with Asiwaju; we have difference of opinion, difference of perception, and I think that is normal,” Oyegun said.

In a report by TheCable, Oyegun said though Tinubu had called for his resignation, it won’t be happening on the pages of newspapers as there are laid down steps to achieve such requests.

In the words of Oyegun: “Yes, I agree that the nature of the statement was a bit harsh. The method of getting rid of a national chairman, if that is what I will call it, are spelt out in the constitution; they don’t take place on the pages of newspapers.”

On Monday, October 3, 2016, Oyegun and Tinubu exchanged pleasantries and shook hands when they met at the book launch in honour of President Muhammadu Buhari.
