The contestants of the 6th Edition of Queen of Peace Nigeria 2022 have sought to parley with the Nigeria Union of Journalist, FCT council towards the event which is slated for the 29th of July, 2022.
Led by the National President of the Convening body: MESSENGERS OF PEACE FOUNDATION, Dr. Suleiman Adejoh the contestants showcased their advocacy for peace and unity in the language of the states of their representation.
Emphasizing the importance of having a proper media representation to enable a wide reach for the project of peace which is the cardinal cause of the project, President of the Foundation, Dr. Adejoh, intimated the council on the progress so far. He informed that the foundation enjoys the support of the FCT administration under the guidance of the Minister of state, Dr. Ramatu Tijani Aliyu.
The contestants according to Adejoh had for the past 10 days undergone various grooming and mentorship which include decent dressing, Rape prevention and many more. He assured that the Queens were ready to face the world and represent the good qualities of Unity in the Country.
Chairman of council, NUJ FCT, Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche, appreciated the group for their visit while congratulating the contestants for having come thus far. He charged the contestants to adhere strictly to sound moral values, honesty, transparency and core diligence in their endeavours as ambassadors of peace. He pledged full support of the media.
Contestants were drawn from different regions of the country to represent the 36 states of the country not just by citizenship but by knowledge of language and/or by residency in such state.
Event is slated for the 29th of July 2022 at the Ladi Kwali hall, Sheraton hotel Abuja. 9 of the contestants will emerge queen with the 6 geo-political zones each having a queen out of the Nine while the rest will cover for Mother Queen of Peace, Nigeria Queen of Peace and Diaspora Queen of Peace.
MESSENGERS OF PEACE FOUNDATION is a Peace advocacy, leadership and promotion of unity organization. The foundation features yearly leadership training, awards and beauty contests as part of it’s activities.
