Hamma said, our meeting today is a collective solidarity and in recognition of our efforts in our various organizations by TUC giving us awards.

We dialogue with the employees and the union where Adams Oshomole believe and Isa Adamu also do, we negotiate every year on issues and approval is granted for implementation and we do the needful. We don’t delay any approval to their allowances, salaries without any waste of time and therefore, that’s why the activitiy has find it important to bring the textile employers into the lime-light, he said.

According to the DG, Manufacturing Association and Textile, the TUC has actually shown that these people are decipline.

The DG also said, on the issue of removal of subsidy, they are talking about, why has refinary become redundant, year in year out, they are given maintenance allowance and at the end nothing comes out.

He said, Textile is the largest employer of Labour. Look at the textile in Kaduna, it is not functioning and as a result, we could not compete with other countries because we do not have the enabling environment and textile parks.

Subsidy is supposed to be for industries and not for individuals. If our factories are functional, terrorism will be a thing of the past because a lot of people will be engaged meaningful across the country, he said.
