An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Monday granted a 23-year-old man, Jelili Musa, N100,000 bail for allegedly stealing N10,000 cash.
The magistrate, Mrs G.O. Anifowoshe, said the accused should also provide two sureties one of whom must be his blood relation and provide evidence of two years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government (LASG).
Musa, who lives at Amawo in Oko-Oba Agege area of Lagos State, had pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge bordering on stealing.
Police prosecutor Eruada Victor had told the court that Musa and two others still at large committed the offences at New Garage, Oko-Oba, Agege Area of Lagos, on Dec. 29.
Victor said that the accused attacked one Abubakar Salifa and stole the sum of N10,000 being proceeds from the sales of soya.
He said the complainant reported the matter at the police station which led to the arrest of the accused.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The case was adjourned to Jan. 30 for mention.
