It appears Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi may be unavailable for the Super Eagles friendly games against Senegal and Burkina Faso this month (March) due to illness.
The 20-year-old is also likely to miss out on Arsenal’s crucial FA Cup quarter final tie against Lincoln City on Saturday, March 11, 2017.
Iwobi was not on the pitch when Arsenal fell by 5 goals to 1 against Bayenr Munich in the midweek UEFA Champions League clash and Coach Arsene Wneger reiterates that his recovery may take a little longer.
“’I believe that we have two uncertainties which is Welbeck who had to come off after the warm up against Bayern Munich and also Alex Iwobi who is also down with sickness,” Wenger explained.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has not made any public statement yet and a likely replacement is yet to be determined.

Still on the Super Eagles, Watford Striker Stefan Okaka has reportedly turned down an invitation to play for the Super Eagles. Okaka has played 4 matches for his country of Birth, Italy and prefers to fight for a shirt with the Azzuris. Despite his caps, he is eligible to play for the Nigerian National team having only featured in friendly games.
3 Years ago, Okaka expressed his desire to play for the Super Eagles but had received a call up by then Italian National Team Coach and current Coach of Premier League side Chelsea, Antonio Conte.
