FOUR MONTHS PREGNANT WOMAN, SON ELECTROCUTED IN IBADAN

It was a great loss to the residents of Alare Compound in Aremo area in Ibadan North-East Local Government Area of Oyo state when sympathizers gathered to mourn the death of a pregnant woman and her two-year-old son who were electrocuted.

Inside Sources gathered that the pregnant woman was spreading some clothes she had washed on a line at her residence when she was electrocuted.

According to sources, the woman’s screaming was said to have drawn the attention of her son, who ran to his mum and hugged her and was also electrocuted.

A resident in the area said “a hotel close to the deceased house had connected a wire to a house to provide illumination for passers-by at night but unknown to the four months pregnant deceased, the insulator on the wire had worn off. As she was spreading her clothes on it, she was electrocuted. She screamed, attracting the innocent boy, who ran to his mum. He too got electrocuted on the spot.”

SP Adekunle Ajisebutu the Oyo State spokesperson who confirm the incident, the state’s said the bodies had been taken to the Adeoyo General Hospital morgue for autopsy and that investigation had begun.
