Report reaching Inside Sources now confirmed that Gen. Theophilus Danjuma may be arrested soon as the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts threatened following his inability to appear before the committee on Tuesday.
According to sources in the federal capital territory, the committee is probing the activities of the former defence minister in his capacity as the Executive Secretary Presidential Committee on North East Initiative, PCNEI.
The probe followed allegation by the Auditor General to the Federation, that the agency was not transparent with its finances.
The committee at the resumed hearing. on Tuesday, alleged that most agencies of government and many individuals had formed the attitude of shunning the parliament’s summons, adding that if Gen. Danjuma failed to appear before it next Tuesday it will apply the relevant section of the laws.
“This committee Will not hesitate to invoke Sections 88 and89 particularly Section 89c if they fail to appear before us next week Tuesday and based on this the Secretariat is hereby directed to within the next 24hours send a letter of summon to them with a validly signed acknowledgment”, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon Kingsley Chinda said.
