Men of the Nigeria Police Command in Ilorin have arrested 11 suspects over cult-related activities, killings and clashes in Ilorin the Kwara state.
The cult suspects according to sources in the Kwara state police command were arrested on Monday by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID).
Acoording to the Police source, the suspects belonging to the Eiye and Aiye confraternities. were arrested at their hide out in Kulende area of Ilorin following a marching order by the Commissioner of Police in Kwara state, Ado Lawan.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, while confirming the arrest said “the police would not relent until the state was rid of cultism and other crimes”
Inside Sources gathered that the Ilorin Emirate Descendant Union (IEDPU) had revealed that nearly 30 people had been killed by cultists within the last six months in the state.
