Federal Government of Nigeria has changed the known Mathematics and Algebra of what is known as 2/3! For instance, they started with the Governors’ Forum where 16/35 is more than 19/35! In Ekiti State last week, the Almighty “Stomach Infrastructure” Governor Ayo ‘Ikunyose’ (sorry, Fayose) supervised the super-impeachment of the Speaker of his House of Assembly with another Statistics of 8/25 is more than 17/25! Ekiti now has 2 Speakers at the same time. All members of the opposition party had been pursued out of Ekiti. Anarchy now reigns like king! Another political ABRACADABRA! That’s what is called “STOMA-CRACY!” I know one thing for sure and I say this from personal experience of what occurred in 1983. Currently, our ‘politricians’ are rehearsing the same game of political lunatic dance where they abuse powers at all levels as it is being done at the National Assembly and in some State Assemblies now.
Wasting of lives and properties by BOKO Haram: GEJ promises to do something! CHIBOK girls yet to be found, about 16 LGAs of Nigeria have been taken over by terrorists. When OBJ talk, GEJ will answer through Mr. Big Mouth – Doyin Okupe(aka “Omo-ina-la-ran-s’ina”). It’s only Baba Iyabo (among our top leaders) who is speaking and crying loud and clear now! GEJ is more concerned about how to retain POWER come 2015 than Nigeria’s survival. Our children know the TAN jingles more than our National Anthem now! For it is aired more than the song that keep us together. The Australian Stephen Davis – who has nothing to gain in Nigeria’s deterioration has been crying loud and clear and mentioned names of President Jona’s cronies as Boko Haram sponsors – nothing is being done to unearth the truth. GEJ has just woke up to his status as the C-in-C by using state power to pursue political opponents by attacking their party offices, closing down the National Assembly at will! We are now rehearsing the Old French phrase “Danse Macabre”, that is, “the Dance of Death,”

Riddle me this: if by definition devaluing a currency makes it weaker, why does the CBN story says that this will make the currency stronger? Is it a mistake by CBN or have we moved into some parallel universe were up and down are the same? To those who called for Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s head, it is not yet a year now. Can you see? In 1982, the Sage, Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo(of blessed memory), (who managed our economy with an uncommon dexterity during the Civil war without borrowing a kobo), had alerted Nigerians that the ship of our economy is heading towards the wreck. Immediately, the then NPN’s – the ruling party’s National Chairman, Late Adisa Akinloye went to London to debunk Awolowo’s political wisdom as another politicalhoax! Few months later, we all became wiser! Same scenario is being repeated today! Few months ago, Madam Know-All Ngozi Ewealla told the whole world that Naira is stronger and that Nigeria is not broke. Today, she has agreed that truly, Nigeria is sinking and Naira has to be devalued! Economic Somersault and admission of Failure and Recession? Second base…jare!
Has Naira had any value since 1988 when IBB introduced SAP (Slow Adjustment to Poverty)…lol! Oil prices plunge and my dear country is in disarray, taxes, austerity measure…exactly what happens when you depend wholly on one source of national income. Nigeria and the people running her should sit up and harness other available resources. Because, oil prices will go even lower, lower and lower. with America’s discovery and development of salve oil, trust US, she will cause more havoc to crude oil market until it collapsed totally! In 2010, Oga JONA promised us 3 new refineries to be built in Lagos, Balyesa and Kogi and a sum of US$20 Billion was said to have been earmarked for the project. Today, No refineries and No Money! Nobody remembers again!
In all this, something is emerging; like George Santayana, once quipped: “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it”. If Nigeria is left to continue degenerating as it is today, our democracy is not safe! I am not a prophet of doom but a realist. We should not be surprised if we just wake up again to hear on our radios again: “Fellow Nigerians, I…..” The signals are already written on the wall – there in no gainsay, and we must not pretend again. It is either our political leaders change their political misdemeanors and be more patriotic or history will be repeated. Under the present political tension, only a fool and political novice will tell us that Nigeria is not very sick. Nigeria is presently sitting on the edge of the socio-economic and political precipice!
Our lives and times are in the HANDS of GOD.We are passing through a national disruptive age and times – this we know but we prefer assumption of illogical pretence. Under our present situation, a more important goal is to avoid false positives at all costs. A hunter must learn not to shoot at everything that moves in the bushes, because the moving object might be a human or a dog. The hunter must wait until the form of the object becomes clear. The threshold for pulling the trigger and shooting must be raised so that a signal does not lead to a response unless the signal is clearly perceived. False negatives (failing to shoot) are less important than false positives (shooting the wrong thing). We see the TRUTH and we dodge – all because of what we want to EAT! Bribes here and there. CORRUPTIONS – Economic, Judicial, Executive and Moral CORRUPTION everywhere! Where are we HEADING to in Nigeria? Who will save the nation in paranoid delusions?
My Heart BLEEDS for this NATION! I’m not only incredulous; I am incensed!!
