The Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by the Ekiti State government to look into the state’s finances has discovered some sorts of financial miss-management during the Governor Kayode Fayemi’s administration between October 2010 through September 2014
The commission in its yesterday’s proceedings at the Magistrate Court 1, in Ado-Ekiti, with the first witness discovered that a total sum of N163, 267,220,048.07 was received from the federation account while N49, 483, 156,394.80 was borrowed by the Fayemi’s government.
According to Mr. Kehinde Odunayo, who is from the Accountant General’s office tendered necessary documents to the commission on statutory allocation as received by the Ekiti state government under Fayemi’s administration
Inside Sources gathered that from N25bn the former governor took, N2bn was meant for building of modern market in Ado Ekiti, N400m was for building of a New Governor’s Office and N1.3bn for the construction of Ijesa Isu-Ikole road. But none of the projects were carried out by the Fayemi’s government.
The commission adjourned its sitting till Wednesday, August 30, 2017 for further hearing.
