Former President of the federal republic of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has warned some African long serving Presidents to either leave office or lose their lives at the cost of having the burden of the nation on their head.
Obasanjo made this known while feeding questions from BBC said the reason most of such leaders stay on was because they had fears and become a rare commodity to their various countries after spending more than 12 or 15 years in office
The former Nigerian Leader while commending Angola’s Dos Santos, who recently opted to step down after 38 years in office, advised long serving African leaders to follow Dos Santos’s example and leave Office or Office Will Leave them.
Meanwhile, Obasanjo who had wanted to stay and spend more terms as Nigerian President but was forced out by the Nigerian law makers said may be other African leaders will see wisdom in Dos Santos’s action.
Obasanjo therefore called on Togo’s on President Faure Gnassingbe to leave office because whatever he has to do in terms of development must have been exhausted by now, unless he has something new that we do not know.
