TANKER EXPLOSION CLAIMS 15 LIVES IN KADUNA

No fewer than fifteen persons has been confirmed dead yesterday when a fully loaded petro tanker caught fire at tafa Kagarko Local Government Area, along Kaduna-Abuja highway.

The Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, Maryam Abubakar while briefing newsmen on the incident said the petrol tanker lost control and went up in flames, killing several people.

According to an eyewitnesses account, the petrol tanker after losing control tried to avoid a head-to-head collision with a golf car on the road thereby skidded off the highway and burst into flames.

Abubakar in her speech said “this evening, Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai visited Tafa, Kagarko Local Government on the Kaduna/Abuja highway, after a tragedy occurred yesterday, when a petrol tanker lost control and went up in flames, killing several people.  “Mallam El-Rufai sympathised with the people of Tafa and expressed sadness over the lives lost.  The Governor also inspected the new Trailer Park under construction in the area.  “Another Trailer Park is being constructed at Maraban Jos, along the Kaduna/Zaria express way, Igabi Local Government.”
