The family of Orji of Alayi, a community in the Bende Local Government Area of Abia State has been thrown into mourning following a traditional punishment on one Emma Orji who was accused of having sex with a house wife.
Sources in the community disclosed that the woman whose identity is still under protection was said to have left her husband’s house with the guise of visiting her parents in a nearby village, but she was found copulating with Orji three days later.
According to sources, adultery is a sacrilegious offence in the community which attracts some capital punishments including public flogging of the offender.
Orji the source hinted was taken away by some angry youths in the community for proper punishment only to be found dead the following day.
Orji’s death Inside Sources gathered has resulted to some sorts of jungle justices in the Alayi community as friends of the decease was said to have invaded the home of the person suspected to have spear headed the killing and set the house and car on fire.
The Special Adviser to Abia state Governor on Security Matters, Captain Awa Udensi (retd.) and the Chairman of the Bende Local Government Council, Gabriel Elendu who visited the community in company of the Divisional Police Officer of the area condemned the gruesome killing of the deceased by youths in the area.
Udensi however warned youths to desist from taking the laws into their own hands while vowing to get to the root of the incident.
