According to information flying the air, Justice Binta Nyako of Abuja Federal High Court may withdraw from the ongoing trial of secessionist and leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu over attempt to frustrate the hearing.
Speaking at the federal capital territory, Justice Nyako said she had been pushed to the brink by the defendant’s counsel and would recuse herself.
Nyako’s threat to withdraw from the case came after series of arguments between her and Kanu’s lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor who spoke on a motion he planned to bring before the court, but whose content had not been listed by the judge.
While accusing of making the matter difficult Nyako said “If you don’t want me to continue in this matter, I will rescue myself. I told you that the matter is not yet before me.”
