Despite the sudden disappearance of their leader Nnamdi Kanu, the Indigenous People Of Biafra IPOB still maintained their stand to boycott the November 18 governorship election in Anambra state.
IPOB barely a week to the state governorship election staged a march round some street in the popular Onitsha market with a vow to lockdown November 18 2017 date meant for the election.
Sources in the Onitsha disclosed that the group during their rally round the market said, “If you vote you will die. Don’t go out, stay in your house. If you vote on November 18, you will die. We are not running around for the zoo. There will be no election. We will not participate, we will not vote. Nothing concerns us with any election. We are formidable. We are in Onitsha to tell the Federal Government to produce Kanu. They should release all the Biafrans in Nigerian prisons.”
IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful in a telephone conversation hinted that the purpose of the demonstration in Onitsha was to prove to the world that no threat of bullet would not stop them from having Republic of Biafra.
Powerful also urged all Igbos living outside the South-East to contact their families at home to boycott all Nigerian elections starting with the governorship election in Anambra.
