The State of harmony yesterday went to the poll to elect chairmen and councilors for all the sixteen local governments in the state just like their Anambra counterpart who were also at the pool for who to govern the state for the next four years.
Although there were series of allegations levied against the ruling All Progressive Congress APC and the election umpire Kwara (KWASIEC) state independent electoral commission over plans to manipulate the result against opposition parties. These allegations was made manifest when the electoral body disqualified four out sixteen chairmanship candidate of the opposition people’s Democratic Party PDP under the disguise of not keeping to electoral rules.
Although the publicity of the election was very poor because part of the allegations was that KWASIEC was trying to impose APC candidates thereby shifting the election dates times without number before the November 18 happens to be the final date.
The election was peaceful as promised by the state governor Abdulfatah Ahmed some sorts of violence was recorded in two different locations ranging from ballot box snatching and house vandalization.
At the end the ruling All Progressive Congress APC won all the seats of the local government and here are the new faces that emerged as local government chairman in each local government
