EFCC SEALS FORMER GOVERNOR’S FAMILY HOUSE IN MAKURDI

The Hudco quarters family house of the former governor of Benue state Gabriel Suswam has been sealed alongside his Metropolitan hotel and a residential building under construction by the Ibrahim Magu led economic and financial Crimes Commission EFCC.

The properties which is located in different parts of Makurdi, the state capital the anti-graft agency sealed with the inscription ‘EFCC keep off’.

Sources at the state capital hinted that the sealing of the properties might be in connection with allegation misappropriation of funds to the tune of N107 billion by Suswam during his administration as governor of Benue state.

The Justice Elizabeth Kpojime’s Panel of Inquiry set up by the current governor Samuel Ortom indicted Suswam, the Finance Commissioner under his administration Omodachi Okolobia and 50 others for mis management of public funds during Suswam’s reign as the state governor between 2007 and 2015.

Suswam was on November 10 2015 first arraigned before the Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Abuja on a 9-count charge bordering on allegations of financial impropriety and money laundering.
