The Kwara State Government has restated its commitment to promote religious tolerance in order to even the development across the State.
The Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisira stated this in Ilorin while receiving the executives of the Bible Society of Nigeria, Kwara branch in his office, led by the Chairman, Reverend Jacob Olaniyi.
He affirmed that the State government would support the Society in its activities, charging them to continue to distribute the Holy Bible to win souls for the Kingdom.
The Chairman of the Society, Reverend Olaniyi informed the deputy governor that the organization has been existing in the state for close to 40 years recording huge successes through the winning of souls and continuous spread of the word of God.
He cited the achievements of the Society to include the production, distribution and translation of the Holy Bible into over 25 Nigerian languages since its creation.
Olaniyi explained that the Kwara branch has won the overall best in the 38 branches across Nigeria. He stated that the Society has distributed over 55,000 Bibles to the people within this area with the intention of increasing even more free thousand copies before the end of the year.
