The Honorable Salami Najeem Folasayo led Osun State House of Assembly has ordered for the arrest of Muyiwa Ige, son of the former governor of the old Oyo State Chief Bola Ige for allegedly refusing to honor the lawmaker’s invitation.
Inside Sources gathered that the arrest warrant was issued following Muyiwa Ige’s refusal to appear before the members of the Osun state house of assembly over a land at the Ilobu area of Osogbo which is under investigation by the lawmakers.
Muyiwa Ige who was the former Osun state Commissioner for Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development was invited alongside the former permanent secretary of the ministry.
Sources in the Osun state house of assembly who spoke under anonymity said while the former permanent secretary called to plead with the lawmakers that he will not be able to appear on the Wednesday sitting, Ige’s arrest order was as a result of his noncompliance with the lawmaker’s invitation.
The source while briefing newsmen said “It is true but the invitation was aired on OSBC on Tuesday and if he (Ige) was not in the state, he might not have heard that he was invited. The PS also did not come but he called to notify us that he would not be available. We didn’t receive any call from Muyiwa until evening time when he called and told us that he was not aware of the invitation.”
The former commissioner while reacting to the lawmakers claim from Lagos said “Nobody even invited me. I don’t even know what it is about. What if I am even out of the country? Let’s even assume that I was invited and I did not even get the invitation and somebody was there, they could have picked up the phone and say they are expecting you here. How far is Lagos from Osogbo? The next action is his name is Ige, let’s put it out there. I was in Osogbo until 7.00 p.m. on Tuesday. I don’t even know anything for now.”
