Human right lawyer Mike Ozekhome, has declared that the President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government survives on propaganda.
Ozekhome made this known while kicking against federal government’s decision to borrow $1 billion from the Excess Crude Account, (ECA) to fight Boko Haram insurgency in the North East, while also faulting the National Economic Council (NEC) for approving the said money adding that such can only be approved by the National Assembly.
The human right lawyer while speaking to Sunday Vanguard said that the APC led federal government is doing what they accused the government of former President Goodluck Jonathan of.
Ozekhome during the chat with vanguard said “anything done extra constitutionally amounts to misappropriation. NEC is not a budget approving body. Its duty is to approve projects for execution, but the budget for doing so remains the sole prerogative of the National Assembly. This government is opaque. It thrives on propaganda. It told us as far back as December, 2015, it had technically defeated Boko Haram but now such amount of money is again set for combating same insurgency”
