AJIMOBI CONSOLE OLUBADAN OVER WIFE’S DEATH

The Oyo state governor Abiola Ajimobi has commiserated with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji over the death of his eldest wife, Queen Kudirat Adetunji.

Governor Ajimobi who spoke through his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr Yomi Layinka, in a statement released in Ibadan the Oyo state capital yesterday described the death of the Queen as unfortunate and disheartening,

The governor who said he received the sad news with shock and disbelief added that the incident is a big loss to the Olubadan and entire people of the ancient Ibadan city.

Speaking through Layinka Ajimobi said “we were together with Kabiyesi and the royal retinue at the Chief of Army Staff conference, held in Ibadan last week. Her death is indeed a big loss to our father, the Olubadan and the people of Ibadanland. May the Almighty grant Kabiyesi, children and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss’’.

Queen Kudirat who died at the early hours of Thursday December 21 at the age of 71 would be buried at the Popoyemoja Palace of the Olubadan.
