One person has been confirmed dead while several others sustained various degrees of injuries as the clash between the Gbagyi community and the Hausa residents in the Bwari area of Abuja turns bloody.
It was confirmed that residential building and the main market in the area were razed down by the waring communities at the course of the violence.
The cause of the violence according to sources in the area was the crowning of a new Hausa traditional ruler who is of a different lineage from the Gbagyi people that are traditionally known to be the real owner of the title Esu of Bwari.
It was gathered that the natives of Bwari community later protests the formal appointment of Awwal Musa Ijakoro, the son of the Late Mohammed Musa Ijakoro as the Sarkin Bwari at the office of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
The Protesting natives according to information obtained from Sahara reporters accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello and other officials of conniving with non-natives to deprive the natives of their right to be the paramount ruler of the town.
