Governor of Kaduna state and chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress APC Malam Nasir El-Rufai has disclosed that gone are those days when he and some other members of the party used to be free with President Muhammadu Buhari like when they are in opposition.
The governor made this confession in a yet to be released documentary of President Buhari which was titled Buhari: Beyond the Iron and Steel as put together by the presidential media team.
El-Rufai who was speaking from the comical angle of the president said in those days, he and others whom he never disclosed would be laughing and rolling on the floor of Buhari’s living room.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, who made a post of the yet to be released documentary quoted the Kaduna state governor saying “When we were in the opposition, you needed to see how we rolled on the floor in his Buhari’s living room, as we laughed. Of course, we can’t do that again now,”
Other politicians who featured in the documentary “he gives you things to do and leaves you strictly to do those things. No interference at all, once he has confidence in you and he cracks those jokes, and manages to still keep a straight face,”
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, who spoke on the documentary which would be aired later this week said, “he gave me some priority projects: Mokwa/Jebba road, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, and Second Niger Bridge. He never appends his signature to anything, unless you’ve explained, and he understands it.”
