Future of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will be brighter than expected come the new season as one of the football clubs based in the northern part of the country has taken a bold step aimed at shooting the club to an enviable status in Nigeria and Africa at large.
The Maiduguri, Borno state based El-Kanemi warriors could have made the best option among the clubs in the Nigerian Professional Football League for adding seven foreign players in their pay roll, a move which could bring competition into the league in who signs the highest number of foreign players and promote good relationship not only among African football clubs but also bring about job opportunities in African sports industry.
It was gathered that the management of the El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club in their quest to book a seat at CAF championship next season have signed the duos of three top Ghanaian football machines, Sule Muhammed, a top striker during the U-20 World Cup, goalkeeper Isaac Ekong and a defensive midfielder, Anthony Yefou.
The rest of the newly signed players are the Gambian national team goalkeeper Modou Jobe, an Ivorian left full-back, a Togolese league player and a Cameroonian combative midfielder.
The players who are currently enjoying holidays in their respective countries will resume in January to the management of one of the best Nigerian football technician, Imama Amapakabor.
