The joy of every married couple including their respective parents is the cry of a baby shortly after the wedding but the story of Peter Ejiofor, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Lagos seems to be different as the long awaited joy came seven years after the wedding.
Thursday the 28 day of December 2017 was indeed a great day when Mrs. Peter Ejiofor entered the theater of the Crystal Specialist Hospital, in the Egbeda, area of Lagos and brought forth a set of quadruplets at the early hours of the day.
The babies, who came into the world at around 9.24 a.m. are still being nursed in the hospital’s incubators reports says.
The latest father of four while briefing his fellow journalists said he never lost faith in God during the waiting adding that the babies are miracles from God.
“I always believe that God has something for us because the doctor always assures us that there is nothing wrong with us, so we were patiently waiting. I also thank God because their mother is fine and just recuperating because of the caesarean operation she went through; the babies are fine too. Although I knew all along about the babies, yet it is a miracle to have them at once, and for those looking up to God for a gift like this, they should trust God. I sincerely thank the doctors, nurses, pharmacists and indeed every member of staff of the hospital. God bless them.” The joyful father told journalists.
The paediatrician consultant that took the delivery, Dr Lillian Ndiekwu, popularly known as Doctor of many, while expressing her joy over the safe delivery said “For the records, this is my second time of taking the delivery of quadruplets. The unique thing about them is that they are all identical and they came with normal weights. Two of them weighed 1.3kg, one 1.4kg and other 1.5kg.
