The President of Kwara Green Plains Farmers Society, an organization of like mind Agricultural entrepreneurs have sent a call to the chairperson of Ilorin South LG Council.
in a brief interview with correspondents, he lamented the fact that ‘the farming season is around the corner and there has been no reach out to farmers as regarding the preseason preparations.’
He recalled that his group bought the chairperson’s candidacy because of her campaign promise to empower youths through the raising of Agricultural entrepreneurs. According to him, the lack of preparations such as Land preparations, farm extension services organization by now is indication of no plans for farmers during the coming farming season.
Weather changes and meteorological predictions indicate we may have early rains this year. This means the farming season will commence shortly.
‘If therefore the Chairperson is sincere about her campaign promises, now is the time to pay attention to the farmers she made promises to.’
