Ilorin Emirate Magajis/ Alanguas Forum have suspended the Baale of Apado community in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State, Subairu Titus over allegation of hate speeches.
News of the suspension was contained a press statement jointly signed by the Forum Chairman, Alhaji Abdulwahab Sanni and the Secretary Dr. Saliu Woru Mohammed, who is the Magaji Nda of Ilorin.
According to the statement, the suspension is with immediate effect unless otherwise lifted by the Emir of Ilorin.
Contained in the statement, the Forum had observed with dismay, the continuous anti-forum activities of the Baale, which according to them, are capable of causing disaffection and breakdown of peace.
The statement reads: “We observed with dismay, the incessant anti-forum activities of Baale Apado, Subairu Titus, which is capable of causing disaffection, breakdown of peace and harmony among law abiding communities not only in Ilorin Emirate but Kwara State in general.”
Subairu was also accused of consistently engaging in hate speeches against a particular community in the state despite the fact that he is a traditional title holder under the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari.
Similarly in the statement, the forum said, “In view of the above unfortunate and lawlessness incidence, the forum wishes to announce the immediate suspension of Baale Apado, Subairu Titus from all its activities.”
Residents of Ilorin East Local Government Area and other law-abiding citizens of the Emirate were also urged not to deal with the suspended traditional chief in the interest of peace and tranquility.
Law enforcement agencies particularly the police have also been called to keep watch on the activities of Subairu and take necessary actions in sustaining the peace and harmony in Kwara State.
