NEWLY APPOINTED KOGI CP ASSUMES DUTY

The newly appointed commissioner of Police, for Kogi state police command, CP Esa Sunday Ogbu formerly assumed duty on Friday at the Police headquarters in Lokoja.

This confirmation was made by the Force police Public Relations Officer, ACP Jimoh Moshood through a press statement which was made available to Newsmen.

The statement reads in part “Consequent on the redeployment of the former Commissioner of Police, Kogi State, CP Ali Janga out of the state and the posting of CP Esa Sunday Ogbu to take over duty as the new Commissioner of Police in the State by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, NPM, mni;

“CP Esa Sunday Ogbu has assumed duty and taken over as the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State, today, Friday, 30th March, 2018 at about 1500Hrs and has since informed the Force Headquarters of his assumption of duty.

This latest development has put to rest the rumour making the round that the IG has reversed the red employment of Ali Janga as commissioner of police Kogi State command.

It would be recalled that CP Ali Janga was removed as Kogi CP following the escape from police custody, two suspects who alleged that they were armed by Senator Dino Malaye, representing Kogi West senatorial district ahead of the 2019 general elections.
