ILORIN, KWARA STATE
The United Bank for Africa Plc, Muritala Muhammed way, Ilorin branch caused traffic obstruction this morning with a water tanker discharging water into the premises of the bank.
Not a few passersby regarded this action as corporate lawlessness on the part of the bank. Many wondered why the water tanker could not be driven into the premises to discharge its content.
Rather, the truck was parked on the narrow road connecting to the main Muritala Muhammed road from where it discharged, thereby causing a bottle neck along the road.
Meanwhile, there was quiet discontent at most of the ATMs, along the Muritala Muhammed road where many customers were stranded because most of the ATMs were empty of cash.
According to a stranded customer who prefers anonymity, the dereliction of duties of obligation to customers has become alarming in Ilorin these days.
Banks would typically refuse to load cash into ATMs after closing hours making the use of the machine unreliable.
