The Attorney General of Nigeria, Abubakar Malami has denied ever getting an invitation from the Senate to appear before one of its committees.
Defending himself during a meeting with the Senate committee on anti- corruption and financial crimes, the minister apologized for not attending the Senate session adding that he never got their invitation.
Chairman of the committee, Senator Utazi Chukwuka had queried why the minister did not honour the invitation of the Senate committee that was mandated to look into the recent raids on Judges’ homes.
The minister added that he appeared before the House of Representatives when he got an invitation on the same matter.
It will be recalled that the Minister of Justice and Attorney General accepted being responsible for giving the order on the raids on Judges’ homes in 2016.
