The Minister of Communications Mr. Adebayo Shittu, has ruled out resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari based on ill health issue.
Mr. Shittu, said this in an interview with mediamen on Saturday on how the ill health of the president has affected governance in the country.
While replying to Journalist the minister said “When you say the presidency, it is not one man who is called the presidency – the presidency includes the president himself, the vice president, the ministers, the directors of the various agencies. Even as a minister, I am part of the presidency and I am doing my job without let or hindrance. All the other ministers are all working seamlessly”.
“As a matter of fact, when you talk of the presidency you are talking of more than 1,000 people and all of these officers are doing their work seamlessly. As a matter of fact, the constitution is very clear. It says in one section that the presidency shall run the administration of the Federal Republic of Nigeria through the allocation of responsibilities to the vice president, the ministers and other directors of government”.
Though the president’s absent at the federal executive council meeting for four weeks consecutively has drawn the attention of Nigerians who calls for the president’s resignation
