Ekiti state Governor Ayodele Fayose has cancelled the burial of Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya, earlier scheduled for 4pm yesterday (Friday, May 19, 2017) in Canada, and has ordered for the corpse to be transferred to Nigeria for burial.
The remains of the 42 year old mother of two died on Thursday, May 18, in Canada of cardiac arrest following complications after childbirth
Sources at the Magodo home of the actress in Lagos revealed that the government of Ekiti volunteered to bankroll the shipment of the corpse to Nigeria.
Despite the Actress eldest daughter, Adunola who insisted that her mother’s corpse should be brought back to Nigeria but she was persuaded to allow it hold in Canada according to the Islamic rites.
Although the Earlier plans by the family and colleagues was that Moji Olaiya should be buried in Canada but the plans changed with the intervention of the Actress state Governor Ayodele Fayose
Meanwhile the Abuja based husband of the late Actress had earlier consented to the Canada burial arrangement on Thursday but with the Ekiti state intervention, all now await the corpse which is bid to arrive Nigeria by the weekend.
