NYSC TO DEPLOY CORPS MEMBERS TO FARM

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps Brig-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure has hinted that the scheme is fashioning out strategies and would soon start posting of corps members to farms,

Kazaure made this in an interview yesterday when he paid an official visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Sagamu, Ogun State.

The Director said that there are plans to deploy fresh graduates serving their father’s land to corps farms in line with the agricultural development programme of the NYSC.

According to Kazure, the the posting will begin at the conclusion of the three-week orientation exercise.

Kazure during the interview said Bauchi, Oyo, Kebbi and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, had been earmarked to pilot the first phase of the deployments.

He further discloses that the NYSC has acquired active farmlands across the nation’s geopolitical zones with four already fully operational in Kwali, Bauchi, Oyo and Kebbi, while other states will be integrated as time goes on.
