Senator Dino Melaye of the Kogi west Senatorial District has declared that those who are planning to recall him from the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly are only wasting their time.
The Senator while Addressing his supporters in Kabba, Kogi State, noted that what he has achieved in the red chambers is so much that the people of the constituency has no choice than to stand behind him.
Melaye who pointed accusing fingers at the governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, as being the brain behind the move for his sack said thirty of his supporters who refused to be part of the move were arrested on the Governor’s order.
It was reported that the seven local government areas that constitute Kogi West Senatorial District had stormed polling units in the area to show their support for Melaye’s sack.
Melaye during the briefing with his supporters said “Quote me, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has released N200 million for each of the seven local government areas in my senatorial district to facilitate my recall from the Senate.”
Meanwhile the State governor through his through his Chief Press Secretary, Petra Akinti-Onyegbule, said that the allegation raised by Malaye remains unfounded
