ZAMBIA WOMAN JAILED FOR DEMANDING THE RELEASE OF OPPOSITION LEADER

A Zambian woman identified as cadre Shila Hamukale, member of United Party for National Development (UPND) has been jailed for 21 days and fined Twelve Kwacha (K12) by the Monze Magistrate Court.

The 24 year old Hamukale, a resident of Freedom B compound in Monze district was apprehended on 8th June, 2017 for indecent exposure.

The Monze Magistrate court during its yesterday judgment jailed the outspoken cadre for 21 days with a fine of K12 after she was found guilty of “Idling and disorderliness.”

Hamukale had shot a 41 second video which went viral on social Media pleading for the release of incarcerated UPND President Hakainde Hichilema.

In the 41 seconds video which was shot at Monze bus station, Hamukale is seen bouncing around while bragging that she is a dependable lady around town while demanding that Hichilema be released.

Hamukale in the video warns that if Hichilema is not released, she will undress herself so that President Edgar Lungu sees her plea.
