HEAVY RAINSTORM RENDERS THOUSANDS HOMELESS IN ONDO

About 60 houses has been demolished by a heavy rainstorm at Gaga Area of Akure in Ondo State rendering thousands homeless and properties worth millions destroyed.

The terrible incident, which occurred Friday night blew off roofs and structures, while some vehicles were trapped under fallen trees.

An eyewitness disclosed that the Friday night rain threw entire community into total darkness because the rainstorm uprooted many electricity poles and some religious centres were also badly damaged.

The residents of Gaga have called on the state government, the National Emergency Management Agency and other stakeholders to come to their aid as many of them had been rendered homeless.

The Gaga community leader Mr. Oluwole Omotosho, while speaking to Journalists yesterday, implored the state governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu to assist the community with relief materials.
