The Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority, KASTELEA, has relieved about 124 marshals of their jobs for various forms of misconducts.
The agency’s General Manager, Abdulkadir Ahmed, who made this known in a statement in Kaduna over the weekend, said while some of the marshals were found wanting for extortion, others left their duty poststo an unknown destinations.
According to Ahmed “Of all the 124 marshals sacked, one of them was dismissed from service for extortion, another one for gross misconduct, while 122 others were relieved of their appointments for absconding from their duty posts.
Ahmed said “the termination of their appointments was according to all the laid down procedure as prescribed in the Terms and Condition of Service, TACOS, of the authority.
Inside Sources gathered that the move is part of the agency’s efforts of repositioning through continuous improvement of its service delivery.
The General Manager further said “The management has given all the sacked marshals two weeks to return all KASTELEA property in their possession/care, failure to do so would attract severe sanctions from the authority.
Ahmed who assured the public of the agency’s commitment to ensuring safety on roads in the state also called on the public not to give any form of gratification or monetary payment to marshals of the authority.
