A 29-year-old bus driver, identified as Folarin Olorunto has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates Court for allegedly raping his sister-in-law after threatening her with a knife.
The 29 year old Olorunto who resides on Odushola Street, in Aboru area Ipaja, in Lagos standing trial on counts of rape and threat to life.
The prosecuting Police Officer, Inspector Clifford Ogu told the Court that the driver who is now separated from his wife committed the offence on June 17 when he went to visit his child who is in custody of the wife.
Ogu told the Magistrate Court sitting on Monday under the authority of Mrs Taiwo Akanni that “On getting to the house, the defendant met the 17-year-old sister-in-law at home, and when he discovered she was the only one at home, he shut the door and brought out a knife and threatened to stab the girl if she would not cooperate with him; hence, he succeeded in raping her,”
The accused after pleading not guilty was granted him bail with the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum while the case was adjourned until July 17 for mention.
