The Indian Police has confirmed the death of 3 men and 5 others reported missing when their boat capsized while trying to take selfie to be posted on social media platforms
Information at our reach disclosed that the accident occurred on Sunday evening when a group of 10 men, between the ages of 21 and 28 years, were out on a fishing boat on the Vena River near the city of Nagpur in central India.
According to the area chief of police Chandrashekhar Bahadure the boatman rescued two of the men while three other bodies were recovered from the river Monday afternoon.
The Chief of Police told newsmen that initial investigations revealed that the group was busy taking videos and selfies on the boat which could have caused the tragedy
One of the survivors said the boat lost balance and overturned when a number of them came to one side to pose for either selfies or videos.
In the gist made available to Inside Sources one of the men had posted a video on his facebook page few minutes before the accident.
