ANOTHER HIGH RISE BUILDING COLLAPSE IN ILORIN

There was pandemonium today along the Sulu Gambari road in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital where a high rise building belonging to a politician, Alhaji Moshood Mustapha collapsed while construction civil works were on going.

Eye witness account revealed that, a number of workers were trapped in the debris of the collapsed building. Further information gathered by Inside Sources revealed that construction works on the building had been stopped and sealed twice by the Kwara state Town planning Authority before this incident.

Efforts to reach Town planning Authorities for comments on the avoidable accident proved abortive as all contact numbers could not be reached as at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile rescue operation is ongoing and an undisclosed number of injured workers had been rushed to a medical facility. When Inside Sources visited the site, armed civil defence operatives were seen in large numbers condoning off any access to the point of accident.

Not too long ago, the owner of the collapsed building has irked not a few kwarans when he acquired a recreation park and builds it up into a shopping plaza.

Watch this space for further details as they emerge.
