The government of China has set new pace in the settlement of despites as it launches an internet based court for the purpose handling the soaring number of online disputes.
The internet court which was launched on Friday August 18 in the Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, is said to be the first internet court in the world, is expected to focus on hearing six kinds of civil and administrative internet-related disputes, including online piracy and e-commerce.
The court according to sources has generated attention among internet and legal industries since its establishment was formally approved by the central leadership by the end of June.
Before its establishment the court was specialize in hearing internet disputes, among some grassroots courts in Hangzhou, the home of many Chinese technology enterprise including Alibaba, the company behind the Alipay mobile payment system and Taobao online marketplace, had ran a successful pilot program of handling internet-related cases since 2015.
