Gist reaching Inside Sources now has revealed that the Ifeanyi Okowa led government of Delta state has sold the state’s transportation company Delta Line to God is Good motors.
According to the gist, Delta Line Transport was sold to God is Good Motors and delta state chapter of Nigerian Labour congress NLC for over N161 million.
Sources in the state hinted that the state NLC allegedly offered to buy it for N2b but along the line God is Good now 70 percent while NLC owns 30 percent of the deal.
Inside Sources gathered that the sale of the company to GIG Motors has resulted in the sack of the 730 workers of Delta Line without any form compensation paid to the lay off workers.
Meanwhile in a different development a source who spoke under anonymity claimed that the real buyer is Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa himself but Gog is Good is just to cover up details of the sale as the delta state chapter of NLC initially bid to buy it for N2 billion.
The source in his words said “the real part of the deal between, which is yet unknown to most people, is that Mr. Okowa is the real buyer of the company but has decided to use the God Is Good Motors as front and after five years, the company’s name will be changed, the owner of GIG Motors contributed Mercedes-Benz buses to the governorship campaign of Mr. Okowa. It was because of that the governor directed Mr. Edevbie to advertise for bids, which was a formality, as the transport company was sold for N161 million and a bid of N2billion by the NLC was turned down,”
