SUPER EAGLES FORCED CAMEROON OUT OF RUSSIA 2018 RACE

After suffering a 4-0 defeat to the super Eagles of  Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo yesterday, Coach of the Cameroonian side Hugo Broos has lost all hope taking the Indomitable Lions to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Broos in an interview shortly after the defeat yesterday said the return leg scheduled for Monday in Cameroon is of no importance adding that all hope of being in Russia 2018 has been dashed out in the just concluded 90 tie.

Coach Broos during the interview said “We have just 2 points with Nigeria at 9 points. That means we have to win the remaining 3 matches and Nigeria lose three which is not possible. We are out of the race.”

The coach of the 5 times African champion further said “they were better, faster and more determined. They deserved their victory; I am not under any pressure because the battle has been lost. We came up strongly in the first 20 minutes but the Eagles were able to contain us. They scored two goals in the first half and when after another strong start in the second half, they scored their third goal, we were disorganised and lost the fighting power.”
