Members of the youth activity of the International Association of the Lions Clubs are converging in Lagos from all the South west states in Nigeria for the installation and presentation of the first female district president of the Leo district 404b2 Nigeria for the 2017/2018 Lions service year.
Leo Club members from all southwest Nigeria and their southeast and south-south counterparts’ jets into Lagos yesterday for the three days epoch making events to mark the official presentation of Leo Eunice Obehi Matthew as the fourth district president in a grand event scheduled for Sunday 10th September 2017.
Inside Sources authoritatively gathered that Leo Eunice served as the club President of the Ikeja Viva L’amour Leo Club during the 2013/2014 Lions service year before contesting for the post of district president at the 2014 national convention tagged Oluyole 2014 where she won with a landmark victory.
In a statement released on behalf of the host region by the immediate past president of the Ikeja Viva L’amour Leo Club Leo Agunbiade Timothy disclosed that the three days event tagged “excellence 2017” features activities like officers training, save a life project, inter region football match and first council meeting for the year.
Leo Agunbiade who also doubled as the region director in the statement said the acronym LEO stands for Leadership, Experience and Opportunity. That’s why every member of the club adds Leo to their names.
Inside Sources gathered Leo Club; the youth activity of the International Association of the Lions Clubs over the years has been one of the few youthful association who through their various activities and projects has been impacting positively on their immediate environments and also preparing youths to become solution providers where ever they found themselves.
