The quarter final match between Osun United and Sunshine Stars has left no fewer than twenty persons with serious injuries and over ten vehicles allegedly destroyed as fight broke out between fans of both teams after the decider which end 3 goals to 1 in favor of Sunshine stars.
An eye witness report disclosed that fans of the Osun United Football club fall out of law at the end of the 90 minutes decider when the referee sounded the final whistle of the day which saw Sunshine Football Club of Akure proceeding to the semifinals stage on a 3-2 on aggregate.
Sources at the pitch claimed the referee was said to have incurred the wrath of the fans following a questionable call against the Osogbo based football club who needed a second goal to advance, having won the first leg 1-0.
Inside Sources gathered that the match officials were forced to run for their lives during the pitch invasion as suspected Sunshine fans vandalized the vehicles which brought Osun United fans to the stadium while Akeem Olalere the captain of the Osun United side loosed some of his personal belongings.
