SOUTH WEST PDP MAY COME UP WITH A SOLE CANDIDATE

South West Stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) may come up with a consensus candidate for the position of the national chairman of the party as the party has zoned the chairmanship slot to the South West.

The meeting which was scheduled to hold in Ibadan Oyo state according to the Information made available to inside Sources is coming in a period when there are pressures on some of the aspirants to step down as there also serious leadership challenges at various state levels.

The main contenders jostling for the position of the chairmanship of the party ahead of the December national convention are the duo of Chief Olabode George, former governor of Ogun state Otunba Gbenga, former Minister of Education, Professor Tunde Adeniran, former Minister of Sports and Special Duties, Professor Taoeed  Adedoja and the 2015 PDP Lagos governorship candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje.

Sources in the party disclosed that top members of the Board of Trustees, elders’ former and serving members of the National Assembly, former governors, zonal and state officials of the party will also be at the meeting which may produce a sole candidate for the party’s national chairman.
