PITCH INVASION: FIFA SLAMS 11 MILLION NAIRA FINE ON NIGERIA

The world football governing body FIFA has hammered a 30,000 Swiss Francs (N11,049,557) on Nigeria over fans improper conduct during the last month  World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Cameroon in Uyo which end 4-0 in favor of Nigeria.

Fans of the Nigerian Super Eagles were said to have invaded the pitch at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on September 1 2017 when the Nigerian side trashed the indomitable Lions 4 goals.

This fine according to FIFA is that Nigeria violates article 65 and 67 of the FBC FIFA stadium and security regulations on improper conduct amongst spectators, pitch invasions of the pitch and of restricted areas by supporters.

A similar incident took place on March 29, 2016, when fans ran onto the pitch during Nigeria’s game against Egypt at the Ahmadu Bello stadium in Kaduna.
