The Justice Ayo Emmanuel of the Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital has sentenced An Anglican Reverend, Benjamen Ogunmodede alongside Zacheus Tejumola and Adenekan Clement to 40 years jail term over a 16- count charge of conspiracy, unlawful conversion, stealing of school subvention and other criminal charges.
Reverend Ogunmodede who is also a professor of agriculture according to the judge, diverted over N177 million from N600 million received as subvention from the Federal Government to pay salaries of worker and execute certain projects in the Institute of Agricultural, Research and Training (IART), Apata, Ibadan.
Reverend Ogunmodede who is the former Director General of the Institute connived with the institute’s Chief Accountant Tejumade and a staff of the institute to divert money meant to execute project to personal purse.
